Sculpture | Kid The Robot

This was a very fun project that I am very much proud of. It was something I made in an undergraduate sculpting course. The assignment's objective was to make a metal sculpture that would be displayed on a site other than campus and have a sort of relation to it.
First off, I had to come up with sketches. I knew I wanted to make a robot-like figure that would show innocence. So, I played around with different designs that would transmit that. Finally, I settled with a sketch of a small robot with a big balloon.
After that I gathered steel required for the project and ordered extra materials like wheels, led lights, wires and more electrical stuff.
It was fun welding it together and making design decisions along the way.

When it was done I finally got to painting it with spray paint and acrylic paint. I went with primary colors because of the little kid theme and I thought the balloon would be best in red.
Finally, I programmed the led lights and added them to the robot. I took pictures of the finished robot at the mall and buckled up in the car!
